Experiencing powers – inside and outside

Well… I am here in the amazing Dodekanisos, Greece for more than a month. I came here exactly on the day of a New Moon, and I really feel that I started a new cycle in my life – just like our beautiful Moon. It happened accidently, but finally I realized how much my life is connected to nature here. To different aspects of nature. First of all I experienced growth. The beautiful island of Rhodes helped me to open myself and all my senses again to experience the beauty, the love, and a lot more kind of energies around me. It happens all the time when I come here, but this time it was stronger than ever… Rhodes helped me to rediscover some inner power deep inside of me. It is beautiful to reconnect your spirit, to meet new qualities inside yourself, to discover yourself after a long term of being kind of lost and powerless… It is amazing to discover new spaces inside of yourself and also to realize that the world outside feels this vibration and responds to this. When the “channels” are open you can connect, feel the movement, the unstoppable rhythm of life. Amazing flow. Recognizing your own heartbeat, your blood circulation, find yourself alive again after a long period of silence without any movement. Like an explosion of energies. Action is movement, and always creates some transformations.

A lot of action happened to me. Also I saw a lot of actions around me too, different people’s life, ups and downs, different people searching for different things. But so far the most interesting experience that made me think about these powers inside and around us was a volcano.

After so many intense weeks I am doing some relaxing holidays on the small island of Nisyros. The island of the volcano, which shaped the island by its explosions and considered as the youngest volcanic centre in Greece, still active.

I don’t know how often do you have the possibility to do mediation inside the crater of a volcano, but I took the chance and not only walked inside Crater Stefanos, but spent there some meditative time, trying to feel and soak up the energies of Mother Earth.

Well, first of all I realized that this is not the place to calm down. Even the beauty of the existence of a volcanic crater makes you feel excitement. It whirls you, maybe scares you. And when you walk inside, and see, feel, listen the breath of Earth, you become shocked by the fact that how huge powers exist around us, ready to interact and transform, destroy. The Earth is alive, she breaths, she pulses, she moves. Life is so misterious, we can make plans, we can set goals, we can think about a lot of things, but finally us – humans are so small when we realize the big big powers around us. They can come to us in different forms – like death, birth, love, passion, in the form of a stranger, hurricanes, earthquakes, eruptions of volcanoes… In many different forms these big powers visit us sometimes to destroy whatever we have, or mix everything up. We never invite them, they just come to visit us in the most surprising moments to wake us up from our old beliefes, ideas and unvalid truths for the purpose to expand, to grow, to understand, to feel, to experience the eternal cycle of birth and death. They force us to be part of Nature, part of this Universe more and more to pulse together with it. When these powers are knocking on your door the only thing you should do is to cooperate with them. To let ourselves into the darkest moments to understand something, to transform, to learn, to grow, to make a movement. Because transformations happen in darkness.

I think we should take these teachings as a privilege, that the Universe offers us during one small tiny human lifetime…  Nature never stops, it moves constantly even if we resist, it comes to us.

//EN// I am a Hungarian woman living on the Greek Dodecanese archipelago where I have been researching the characteristics of the local landscape and culture since 2015. This journey and work on the Aegean sea gives me the fuel to share what I've found: through written materials (on this blog and at other venues), and to create artworks of pressed flowers and herbs which is a great botano-mythical journey, a worship in the great temple of Mother nature that widens my whole world each day a bit more. My interests: human integrity, interactions between a culture and an individual, recognizing and understanding nature's orderly movements and the cosmic patterns in the human (body and psyche) and their interconnectedness with the non-human world, mythology & archetypes, the Great Mother archetype, women's health, and healing through rebonding with nature (especially with the plant world). //HU// Főként a szavak és a képek nyelvén közlő, önálló utat kijárni próbáló, gondolkodó, örökösen válaszokat kereső embernek tartom magamat. Jelenleg Rodosz szigetén élek, ahol 2015 óta próbálom megfejteni a Mediterránum ezen szegletének (engem mágnesként fogva tartó) géniuszát a helyi természetben, szociokulturális vonásokban, egyéni történetekben - valamint próbálom megfejteni saját folytonosan formálódó viszonyulásomat e költészettől parázsló tájhoz, annak ambivalens jelenkori kultúrájához.
