Ria Jewelry – a hidden gem in Faliraki, Rhodes

If you go to Faliraki on Rhodes island during summer season you will be kind of lost amongst the numerous tourist shops. But Ria’s jewelry shop – just like Ria herself – is so unique, vivid, extraodinary and sexy. I found her shop two seasons ago, and when I stepped in I felt myself like in a small paradise of colors and different kind of feminine energy. Because us women have so many shades and colors and feelings, attributes to express. So you will definetelly will find a piece of jewelry or accessory in this shop to express yourself as a woman – who you are. And you can find Ria’s own handmade items as well amongst the other designer pieces from different parts of Europe wherever she travels during the year.

When I met with Ria end of last season she gave me a little insight about her shop and herself, so here is the result with some photos to introduce you this hidden gem. 🙂

When did you open the shop? How did the idea come?

I opened the shop in 2008!!! It was a dream come true opening my own shop !!!!! 🙂 So the idea was always there I guess.

When did you start making your own jewelries? What was the motivation for that? Did you learn the technique somewhere?

I used to work in other jewelry shops whom I used to do jewelry. So that’s how I started. My mother is an artists and made jewelry as long as I remember her. I guess I took it from her! It’s like I had it inside me.

How could you describe the style of the jewelries made by you? What kind of materiels do you use?

I do different styles and I use all kind of materials.

Where do you get your jewelries, bags and shoes from?

Mainly from Athens. Each year I travel to different countries and I buy jewelry or supplies (stones ,leather, silver beats) there.

What kind of styles do appear in your shop? How do you choose the selections? Do you follow any trends?

I buy only what I would wear or buy for myself. I have many kind of styles! Of course I see what is the trend (just to have an idea) but always I go with what I really like!

Who are your customers?

Women of all ages, all styles, women from all around the world (especially Europe, Italy).

What is your favourite color to wear?

Favorite color???? Oh!!!! In the summer I love colors!!! All of them!!! I would say maybe turquoise little bit more!

What is your biggest inspiration in life?

I can get inspired by travelling or just listen to music, or see a beautiful women or a beautiful dress. The biggest inspiration is the blue sea I guess…

// I am a Hungarian woman living on the Greek islands since 2017. My interests are: human integrity, the archaic man, wisdom and abundance of nature, cosmic analogies & patterns in the psychic and material realms, women's health, self-awareness, self-healing. I have been working on my first book on Rhodes island (Greece) for several years.
